Mehhh. This book was quite funny. Only I was disappointed in the ending. It simply kind of ended. I hate it when the chief grapheme and her dear involvement don't resolve their "bug" until the last few pages. I demand more closure than that.

And this book needs some serious editing. Usually I can look by editing problems, but this was bad. Characters' names being misspelled, paragraphs that were repeated, etc.

I'll say information technology, I want to marry this book! I of the amend books I've read this year. I have a feeling that information technology will blow all my future reads out of the h2o. It was not only fun and witty, but also emotional. I felt similar I was sucked into 1 amazing romantic comedy. One that I would scout over again and again. You might actually encounter me reciting all the best lines while reading it as well. This was one epic reunion of friends, lovers, and the ultimate family. These characters either were either going I'll say it, I desire to ally this book! One of the improve books I've read this year. I have a feeling that information technology will blow all my future reads out of the water. It was non just fun and witty, but also emotional. I felt like I was sucked into one amazing romantic comedy. One that I would watch once more and again. You might actually see me reciting all the best lines while reading it equally well. This was 1 epic reunion of friends, lovers, and the ultimate family. These characters either were either going to pull you away from stepping in front of a bus or push you in front of it. Luckily these characters had no problem rolling with the punches because in the end the prize was so much greater. What would you lot do to erase your mistakes for your first love?

Nosotros meet Mina in the get-go of the volume she is working on her PH.D and only trying to get through each twenty-four hours without tripping over her own feet. To top things off she receives a hymeneals invitation to her ex Lucas and high school friends wedding in Republic of costa rica. Incidentally Mina's dream wedding, but Lucas isn't marrying Mina he'due south marrying someone else. Mina is yet in dearest with Lucas and has no intention of attention the joyous matter. Then he shows upwardly, Ben who is Lucas' best friend and the guy in high schoolhouse who annoyed her to no end. He has a proposition for Mina, he will assist her interruption up the wedding and all she has to do is accept. Ben thinks Lucas is making a huge mistake and is even willing to pretend he is in a relationship with Mina to show Lucas that Mina won't be waiting in the wings any more. Mina and Ben brainstorm their ridiculous pairing and even their friends wonder if it's for existent. But could these 2 possibly fall for each other while Mina is trying to win dorsum her first and but love?

Yes, I fell in love with Ben he was everything that I loved and notwithstanding everything I was afraid of at the aforementioned time. He was smart but the depth of his personality was i I was instantly addicted to. Mina wasn't your typical woman she loved and lost. Then she was given this opportunity and although she was pushed into it she had the support from her closest friends. What true friend wouldn't tell yous to surrender on true love? Lucas was hopelessly in love with Mina, just sometimes things just don't work out similar nosotros plan. This may audio like a beloved triangle but was far from ane. It was a reunion of the past. One full of revelations and new ancestry.

Best part of this book was the dialogue between these friends. They all knew each other and so well. They could relive the past and be close over again. The shenanigans were beyond hilarious and I was a bit envious of all their fun. Honestly if Mina was going to embark on a do or die situation she was definitely surrounded past the perfect people.

I will positively recommend this volume. This book gave me everything that I was looking for so much more. I wasn't sure if Emily was going to break my heart in the end or build it upwards. It was far from predictable. A smart, fun, enjoyable, and highly emotional book that you volition sure to autumn in love with. I can't wait to read more from this author and volition surely be reading this again.

In Hither for the Cake nosotros encounter Mina, whose life is turned upside down when she receives an invitation to her ex-young man, Luke'south, wedding ceremony. As if the fact that Luke is marrying one of Mina'southward sometime friends from high schoolhouse isn't bad enough, there's also the fact that she's never actually got over him. Ambling through life and with absolutely no intentions of attending the wedding ceremony in Costa rica, Mina is eventually bribed into going past Luke's best friend and also best man, Ben. You encounter Ben has a program...o In Here for the Cake we see Mina, whose life is turned upside down when she receives an invitation to her ex-boyfriend, Luke's, wedding. As if the fact that Luke is marrying one of Mina'due south old friends from high school isn't bad enough, at that place's too the fact that she's never actually got over him. Ambling through life and with admittedly no intentions of attention the nuptials in Costa Rica, Mina is somewhen bribed into going by Luke'due south best friend and also best human being, Ben. You run across Ben has a plan...of sorts. He doesn't desire Luke marrying Ella; he knows it's a mistake and that Luke is however really in love with Mina. His big idea involves Mina attending the Wedding, looking gorgeous and also pretending to exist his girlfriend. Once Luke sees them together he will be overcome with jealousy and instantly realise what a big mistake he's making...right?
Of grade things aren't that simple and Ben and Mina's mission to demolition Luke and Ella'due south wedding doesn't quite go to plan. Que dyspeptic Bridesmaids, potentially drowning Brides, lots of romance and fights in canoes.
I loved the storyline for Hither for the Cake. It grabbed me correct away; later all who hasn't been idly walking through life when suddenly something makes y'all stop and inquire yourself 'what if?' The storyline itself lived upwardly to all of my expectations simply there was so much more to this story than I anticipated. Firstly, I expected a fleck of humour, purely based on the storyline, but this story was so, and so much more hilarious than imagined. It is guaranteed to accept you laughing out loud (so beware if reading in a public place!) There are one or two especially comical scenes, one of my favourites being when the girls went canoeing. The dialogue is packed full of witty 1 liners too.
My favourite thing nearly Here for the Block would take to be the characters. I adored Mina, she made for a nifty central character and had and then much more to her than meets the center. I also loved her best friend, Josie. Non afraid to say it how it is Josie definitely had some of the best of those witty ane liners! Friendship is a prominent theme in this novel and the human relationship between Mina, Josie and Luke's sister, Salma, demonstrates this so well. Theirs is ane friendship group I would definitely similar to be a part of, and it's touching how loyal and protective they are of one another. They go up to some pretty exciting shenanigans too.
Ella and her cronies are the perfect characters you lot'll dear to hate and I establish Ben to be a really intriguing character. I couldn't help but like him, even though I sometimes felt that I shouldn't. He'south full of charisma and personality and there'south such great banter between him and Mina. I couldn't make my mind upwardly about Luke nonetheless and I didn't actually warm to him. I just institute myself frustrated and disbelieving of his determination and behaviour on Mina and Ben'south behalf.
The other aspect of this story I really enjoyed was that you can never be quite sure which direction information technology'southward going in. But when y'all think y'all know what'southward going to happen...smash...everything's up in the air again. It kept me guessing which I really liked and added to my eagerness to race through to the end to see how things would work out.
This is a really smart, warm and witty story. At times information technology's emotional, engaging, honest and completely hilarious. Brilliantly written with a fabulous cast of characters, Here for the Cake is the perfect escapist read, guaranteed to put a smiling on your face up.

Review: Here For The Cake by Emily Poule

Here For The Cake was just what the dr. ordered! A deliciously fun, exciting and hilarious read with fantastic characters and a fabulous and conniving storyline. I absolutely loved it!

Mina Joseph is an bookish, studying and assisting at Boston University. Since the tragic dumping by the love of her life, Luke, who is now getting married to 1 of her "friends from high schoolhouse", mega bitch Ella, in Mina's dream location, Republic of costa rica; Mina has buried her head in her report, forever pining over him, never existence able to let go.
When an invitation to the wedding arrives, Mina dismisses it. But when Luke's all-time friend Ben drops past and offers her a plane ticket and spending money for a makeover in the hopes of breaking upwardly the wedding ceremony, past showing Luke what he allow become, Mina merely needs a piddling encouragement to hold to go along. If worst comes to worst she gets a free holiday with her 2 besties, Josie and Salma and a hot new await and wardrobe.
What happens adjacent is an unbelievably first-class story of deceit, romance, hope and longing, with a truck load of frivolous fun, laughter and a bloody awesome ending.

What a cast of characters! I think I've fallen in love with them all! Especially Mina, Josie & Ben.
Mina isn't like most leading ladies. She isn't a dickhead who makes ridiculously stupid mistakes that you but want to slap her for; she doesn't play the victim, she is a strong admirable woman who merely needs closure then she can move on with her life. Bestie #i Josie, is an absolute firecracker and someone I'd want in my corner! The stuff that comes out of her rima oris had me literally laughing out loud, to the betoken I was worried I was going to wake up my sleeping husband and kids. Just and then freakin' funny!
Bestie #2, Salma (Luke's older sister), was the pacifier of the trio, but she was a little pocket rocket herself, and such a loving and caring friend.
Luke is so mixed up. He clearly has feelings for Josie just is adamant that marrying Ella is the right matter to practise. I merely felt sorry for him a petty scrap.
Ella is a....(I've got to watch my language here) crazy MOLE!!! (the skin growth, non the animal). What a piece of work! She is 1 stuffed-up (encounter how I censored it!) individual! The level to how low she could stoop totally added to the twisted story!
And last but non to the lowest degree, Ben. He'southward a male slut and proud of it! But what a guy! His sense of humor and hubris were merely do damn mannerly! And that wit! He was to dice for!

1 thing I particularly enjoyed was what was going on in the groundwork of this novel; so much detail with all the dingy little side stories of all of the "high society" guests, I only couldn't get enough! The setting was beautifully described, leaving me with a vivid motion picture in my heed.

Here For Cake would take to be the Best "chic lit" volume I've ever read. Information technology is a experience-good volume that all though had some sad parts, was a fantastically uplifting story. Excellent writing Ms. Poule! I tin can't wait to read more of your work!

The story itself isn't what I found unique. Daughter gets dumped past high school young man ends up with the one of her supposed best friends and of course the crawly twist with the exes best friend...that I accept read many times. Only the individuals in the story is what makes this one so good!
